Scottish Oat Scones Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c quick oatmeal, uncooked .
  • 2 c spelt flour .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 1 c butter, melted or olive oil .
  • 1 c sour cream .
  • 1/2 c sugar or Splenda sugar substitute

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Mix together the flour, sugar, & salt.
  • Step #3 Add oatmeal to mix & stir.
  • Step #4 Stir melted butter in with a fork.
  • Step #5 In a separate bowl, mix soda & sour cream together.
  • Step #6 Add sour cream mixture to oat mixture.
  • Step #7 Roll or press mixture out into a circle or square on a floured surface until it is about a 1/2 inch thick.
  • Step #8 Cut into your preferreed scone shape & place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Step #9 Bake until lightly browned.
