Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 c light spelt flour .
  • 1 tbsp honey .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 c milk or buttermilk .
  • 1 tbsp baking powder, heaping .
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine, softened

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix together dry ingredients; cut in margarine.
  • Step #2 Add honey & milk; stir well.
  • Step #3 Turn out onto floured board & knead at least 10-15 times.
  • Step #4 Flatten dough into (approximately) 9-inch circle; cut into circles with biscuit cutter or large glass.
  • Step #5 Place on greased or non-stick cookie sheet.
  • Step #6 Bake in oven pre-heated to 350ºF for 15-20 mins or until brown.
