Machaca Recipe

Ingredients
  • 8 oz el pato spicy tomato sauce .
  • 3 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1/2 c sliced tomatoes .
  • 1 green bell pepper .
  • 6-8 large eggs, beaten .
  • 3-4 lbs chuck roast .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 4 oz green chilies .
  • 1 large onion

Directions
  • Step #1 In crockpot, cook roast on low heat 8-10 hrs.
  • Step #2 Remove from pot & shred beef.
  • Step #3 In skillet, saute sliced onion & green bell pepper until lightly browned.
  • Step #4 Add garlic & saute with onion for an extra min or so.
  • Step #5 Add shredded beef to a very large skillet or dutch oven & heat with onion/garlic mixture.
  • Step #6 Add salt & pepper to taste.
  • Step #7 Add green chilis & tomatoes.
  • Step #8 Cook until well heated.
  • Step #9 Break eggs into a bowl & scramble.
  • Step #10 Add to meat mixture & cook this until eggs are done & scrambled throughout.
  • Step #11 Add enough El Pato tomato sauce to moisten but not drench.
  • Step #12 When all is heated through, serve in large flour tortillas burrito style adding condiments as you wish.
  • Step #13 NOTE: If you eliminate the eggs, this makes a wonderful chimichanga filling as well.
