Squirrel Nut Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 15 oz angel food cake (either pre-made from store or make from cake mix) .
  • 6 oz butterscotch caramel sauce .
  • 1 (16 oz) can cream cheese frosting .
  • vanilla ice cream (optional) .
  • 1 c sliced pecans

Directions
  • Step #1 Chop pecans coarsely.
  • Step #2 Slice cake in half horizontally, set aside top half.
  • Step #3 Pour caramel topping over bottom half.
  • Step #4 Sprinkle top 1/2 c sliced nuts over sauce.
  • Step #5 Cover up with top half of cake.
  • Step #6 Frost whole cake with cream cheese frosting, & sprinkle liberally with remaining nuts.
  • Step #7 I personally recommend serving with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, if possible.
  • Step #8 note: prep time is for pre-baked cake.
