- 1/2 c all-purpose flour .
- 1/4 tsp salt .
- 2 1/2 tbsps cold butter .
- 1/2 c yellow cornmeal .
- 1 tsp baking powder
Directions
- Step #1 Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder & salt in med bowl.
- Step #2 Cut in butter with fingers, pastry mixer or 2 knives until mixture resembles.
- Step #3 coarse crumbs.
- Step #4 Make a well in center; pour in milk all at once & stir with fork until mixture forms dough.
- Step #5 Drop dough onto stew to make 6 dumplings.
- Step #6 Cover up & let simmer 18 mins or until dumplings are firm to the touch & wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
