Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 c vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 1/2 c white sugar
  • 2 tsps baking soda
  • 2 c hot brewed coffee

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease & flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Step #3 In a small bowl, dissolve the cocoa in the hot coffee; set aside.
  • Step #4 Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder & salt.
  • Step #5 Set aside.
  • Step #6 In a large bowl, oil, mix the sugar, eggs & vanilla.
  • Step #7 Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the cocoa mixture.
  • Step #8 Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Step #9 Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 mins, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Step #10 Allow to cool.
