Apple Praline Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps apple pie spice .
  • 1 (15 oz) package put in the fridged pie crusts, Pillsbury recommended .
  • 1/4 c all-purpose flour .
  • 2 tbsps butter .
  • 1/2 c sliced pecans .
  • 1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar .
  • 2 tbsps whipping cream .
  • 1/4 c butter .
  • 3/4 c granulated sugar .
  • Praline Topping .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 6 c peeled & thinly sliced apples

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step #2 In a bowl, mix apples, flour, sugar, apple pie spice & salt; toss lightly.
  • Step #3 Put one of the pie crusts in a pie pan, then spoon mixture into pastry lined pan.
  • Step #4 Dot with butter.
  • Step #5 Top with second crust; seal & flute edges.
  • Step #6 Cut vents in several places.
  • Step #7 Bake 50-55 mins or until apples are tender & crust is lightly browned.
  • Step #8 Remove from oven & cool slightly while making the Praline topping.
  • Step #9 Praline Topping: In a small saucepan melt butter.
  • Step #10 Stir in brown sugar & cream.
  • Step #11 Heat to boiling; remove this from heat & add pecans.
  • Step #12 Spread topping on top of baked pie.
  • Step #13 Place pie on a baking sheet & return to oven.
  • Step #14 Bake in oven for 5 mins or until the topping is bubbling.
  • Step #15 Remove pie from oven & cool pie at least 1 hr before serving.
