Crawfish Dressing Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 2 tbsps Creole seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3/4 c uncooked long-grain white rice
  • 1 1/2 c water
  • 1 tbsp sliced fresh parsley
  • 1 c toasted, sliced pecans
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 lbs frozen peeled crawfish tails, thawed
  • 1/4 c butter

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  • Step #2 Stir in rice.
  • Step #3 Reduce heat, & let simmer for 20 mins, cover, until rice is tender & liquid has been absorbed.
  • Step #4 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #5 Lightly grease a medium baking dish.
  • Step #6 In a large, stir this together ground beef, onion, heavy skillet over med-heat/flame, red bell pepper, celery, green bell pepper, & garlic.
  • Step #7 Cook until beef is evenly browned & vegetables are tender.
  • Step #8 Stir crawfish tails, pecans, butter, & green onions into the ground beef mixture.
  • Step #9 Spice up with Creole seasoning & pepper.
  • Step #10 Continue cooking about 3 mins, until well mixed.
  • Step #11 Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
  • Step #12 Bake 25 mins in the preheated oven, or until lightly browned.
  • Step #13 Garnish with parsley.
