Ingredients
2 tart apples, cored & sliced
4 pork chops, 1 1/2 to 2-inches thick
2 tbsps all-purpose flour
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 c hot water
1 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 c raisins
1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp sage (optional)
Directions
Step #1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step #2 Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step #3 Fry pork chops on each side until browned, about 3 mins per side.
Step #4 Transfer to a baking dish, reserving the drippings in the skillet.
Step #5 Cover pork chops with apple slices & sprinkle with sugar.
Step #6 Stir the flour into the fat in the skillet until smooth.
Step #7 Whisk in the water & vinegar.
Step #8 Simmer over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until thick.
Step #9 Add raisins & pour over the pork chops.
Step #10 Cover the baking dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
Step #11 Bake for 1 hr in the preheated oven.
Step #12 Remove the aluminum foil for the last 20 mins of cooking.
