Ole Stuffed Shells Recipe

Ingredients
  • 18 large pasta shells (stuffable kind) .
  • 1 c sharp cheddar cheese, grated .
  • 1 c French fried onion rings, divided .
  • 1 (4 oz) can green chilies .
  • 1 small white onion, sliced .
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste .
  • 1 (12 oz) jar picante sauce (mild or medium) .
  • 1 lb ground beef round

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook pasta shells according to directions.
  • Step #2 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step #3 In a bowl, mix tomato sauce, picante sauce & one c of water.
  • Step #4 Set aside.
  • Step #5 Brown meat with onions, salt & pepper.
  • Step #6 Add can of green chilies, 1/2 c of cheese, half a can of onion rings & 1/2 c of prepared sauce.
  • Step #7 Stuff shell with meat mixture.
  • Step #8 Pour remaining sauce over shells.
  • Step #9 Bake uncovered for 30 mins.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top remaining onion rings & cheese over the top.
  • Step #11 Bake for 5 mins, or until cheese is bubbly.
