Raspberry Trifle Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c white sugar .
  • 2 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting) .
  • 1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract .
  • 1/4 c white sugar .
  • 2 (10 oz) packages frozen raspberries, thawed .
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz) package prepared lbcake .
  • 1 1/2 c heavy cream .
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened .
  • 2 tsps lemon juice

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium bowl, beat cream with 1/4 c sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Step #2 In another bowl, lemon juice, cream together cream cheese, vanilla & 1/2 c sugar.
  • Step #3 Fold 2 c of whipped cream into cream cheese mixture; reserve remaining whipped cream.
  • Step #4 Slice lb cake into 18 ½- inch slices.
  • Step #5 Drain raspberries, reserving juice.
  • Step #6 Line the bottom of a 3 quart trifle bowl with one-third of the cake slices; drizzle with some raspberry juice.
  • Step #7 Spread one-fourth of the cream cheese mixture over cake.
  • Step #8 Sift one-fourth of the cocoa over that.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with one-third of the raspberries.
  • Step #10 Repeat layers twice.
  • Step #11 Top with remaining cream cheese mixture, whipped cream & sifted cocoa.
  • Step #12 Cover up & put in the fridge 4 hrs before serving.
