Spaghetti Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c reduced-fat cream cheese, softened .
  • 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce with garlic .
  • 1 lb lean ground beef .
  • 4 c hot cooked spaghetti (about 8 oz. uncooked) .
  • 1 1/3 c shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese .
  • 1/2 c sliced green onions .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 1 1/2 c low-fat sour cream

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step #2 Cook meat in large nonstick skillet until browned.
  • Step #3 Drain well & return to pan.
  • Step #4 Add salt, pepper & tomato paste.
  • Step #5 Simmer for 20 min.
  • Step #6 Combine sour cream, green onion & softened cream cheese in small bowl.
  • Step #7 Spray 2 quart casserole dish & place cooked & drained spaghetti in bottom.
  • Step #8 Spread cream cheese mixture over & then top this with meat mixture.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top cheddar cheese on top.
  • Step #10 Cover up & bake this at 350 for 25 min Uncover & bake an extra 5-10 mins or until cheese is bubbly.
  • Step #11 Note: I add fresh mushrooms with the tomatoe sauce.
  • Step #12 I also added some lowfat ricotta cheese to the sour cream mixture because I had it on hand.
