Ingredients
  • 1/2 c nonfat plain yogurt .
  • salt .
  • 4 garlic cloves .
  • 1 lb dried garbanzo beans .
  • 1/4 c extra virgin olive oil .
  • 1/2 c lemon juice

Directions
  • Step #1 Rinse & sort chick peas.
  • Step #2 Let soak 6-8 hrs.
  • Step #3 Drain soaked peas.
  • Step #4 Simmer over med-heat/flame 1.
  • Step #5 5-2 hrs or until tender.
  • Step #6 Drain, reserving liquid.
  • Step #7 Add all ingredients together in a food processor/blender & puree until desired consistency is reached.
  • Step #8 The reserved liquid from the beans can be added in small amounts until the hummus is smooth enough.
  • Step #9 Note: The ingredients listed can be varied depending on your tastes.
  • Step #10 Also, try adding a dash of cayenne & letting the mixture sit over night for a kick :).
  • Step #11 One serving is about 1/4-1/2°C.
