Dilly Casserole Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps dill .
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1 c cream-style cottage cheese (I use Hood Country Style) .
  • 1 egg .
  • 1 tbsp soft butter .
  • 2-3 tsps instant minced onion .
  • 1/4 c water .
  • 2-2 2/3 c flour .
  • 2 tbsps sugar .
  • 1 (1/4 oz) package dry yeast

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large mixing bowl mix 1 c flour, salt, onion, baking soda, dill, sugar, & yeast; mix well.
  • Step #2 In a saucepan heat the cottage cheese, water, & butter until quite warm (about 120 degrees); add this to flour mixture.
  • Step #3 Blend at lowish speed until moistened; then beat 3 mins at medium speed.
  • Step #4 Stir in remaining flour, a little at a time, only enough to form a stiff batter.
  • Step #5 Cover up with plastic wrap; place this in a warm place; let rise till doubled in size--about 45-60 mins.
  • Step #6 Stir down & place this in greased casserole.
  • Step #7 Cover up; let rise till double--about 30-45 mins.
  • Step #8 Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-40 mins.
  • Step #9 Immediately remove to a rack & cover with a clean dish towel for about 15 mins.
