Chocolate Cherry Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 8 maraschino cherries, garnish
  • 2 c whipped cream, garnish
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsps sliced maraschino cherries
  •  
  • 1 (1 oz) square unsweetened chocolate, sliced
  • 1 1/3 c vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 c white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c butter, softened

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C.
  • Step #2 ) In a medium bowl, mix crumbs, & 1/4 c softened butter.
  • Step #3 Press onto the bottom & sides of an 8 inch pie pan.
  • Step #4 Bake in preheated oven for 8 mins.
  • Step #5 Cool.
  • Step #6 In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave chocolate until melted.
  • Step #7 Stir every once in awhile until chocolate is smooth.
  • Step #8 Set aside.
  • Step #9 In a large bowl, cream 1/2 c butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
  • Step #10 Blend in melted chocolate, salt & vanilla.
  • Step #11 Add eggs, one at a time, beating 5 mins for each egg.
  • Step #12 Stir in sliced cherries.
  • Step #13 Spread into cooled crust.
  • Step #14 Chill 4 hrs.
  • Step #15 Before serving, garnish pie with whipped cream & maraschino cherries.
