Ingredients
  • Judy Garnett - pjxg05a
  • 1 14 oz Pk vanilla caramels
  • 1 c Pkg semisweet choc chips
  • 2/3 c Evaporated milk
  • 1 pk Swiss Choc. Cake Mix
  • 1 1/2 Sticks butter; melted

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to 350 deg.
  • Step #2 Grease 13x9x2-inch pan.
  • Step #3 mix caramels and 1/3 c.
  • Step #4 evaporated milk in heavy saucepan.
  • Step #5 Heat & stir until mixed; keep warm.
  • Step #6 mix dry cake mix, melted butter & 1/3 c.
  • Step #7 evaporated milk in bowl; mix well.
  • Step #8 Spread half of the mixture in bottom of pan.
  • Step #9 bake this at 350 deg.
  • Step #10 for 6 mins.
  • Step #11 as soon as possible Sprinkle top choc.
  • Step #12 over hot layer; drizzle with caramel mixture.
  • Step #13 Spread remaining batter evenly over top.
  • Step #14 REturn to oven & bake 15 to 18 mins more or until top looks dry.
  • Step #15 Cool on rack; cut into fingers, about 3x1 inch.
  • Step #16 Makes 3 dozen bars.
