Double Delights Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 1 c butter, softened
  • 1 c butter (no substitutes), softened
  • 5 (1 oz) squares white baking chocolate, cut into chunks
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 tsps cream of tartar
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • CHOCOLATE DOUGH:
  • 1 c coarsely sliced pecans
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 c coarsely sliced pecans
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 (4 oz) bar German sweet chocolate, cut into chunks
  • 2/3 c baking cocoa
  • VANILLA DOUGH:
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 For chocolate dough, in a large mixing bowl, cream butter & sugar.
  • Step #2 Beat in eggs & vanilla.
  • Step #3 Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda & salt; slowly add to creamed mixture.
  • Step #4 Stir in pecans & white chocolate.
  • Step #5 For vanilla dough, in another large mixing bowl, cream butter & sugar.
  • Step #6 Beat in eggs & vanilla.
  • Step #7 Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda & salt; slowly add to creamed mixture.
  • Step #8 Stir in pecans & German chocolate.
  • Step #9 Cover & put in the fridge both doughs for 2 hrs.
  • Step #10 Divide both doughs in half.
  • Step #11 Shape each portion into a 12-in.
  • Step #12 roll; wrap in plastic wrap.
  • Step #13 Refrigerate for 3 hrs or until firm.
  • Step #14 Unwrap & cut each roll in half lengthwise.
  • Step #15 Place a chocolate half & vanilla half together, pressing to form a log; wrap in plastic wrap.
  • Step #16 Refrigerate for 1 hr or until the dough holds together when cut.
  • Step #17 Use a serrated knife to cut into 1/4-in.
  • Step #18 slices.
  • Step #19 Place 2 in.
  • Step #20 apart on greased baking sheets.
  • Step #21 Bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 mins or until set.
  • Step #22 Remove to wire racks to cool.
