Step #3 Put the fat & sugar into a large bowl & beat until creamy, to a thick, then add all the remaining ingredients & mix very well, creamy consistency (Don't forget to wish!).
Step #4 Allow to stand overnight.

Step #6 Next day, put the mixture into a lightly greased 1.
Step #7 2L / 2 1/2 pint basin (or two 600ml / 1pt basins), cover with a circle of greased greaseproof paper & secure with foil or a pudding cloth.
Step #8 Steam for 6-8 hrs.
Step #9 3.
Step #10 Cool, then put a clean piece of greaseproof & new foil on top of the bowl, & store this in a cool dry place until required.
Step #11 Steam for a further 3 hrs & flame with warmed brandy before serving.
