Cornflake Holly Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c Caster sugar
  • 1 tb Plain flour
  • 1 c Self raising flour
  • 100 g Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 c Sultanas
  • 1 ts Vanilla essence
  • Approximately 3 c cornflakes

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to moderately hot (190 deg C).
  • Step #2 Lightly grease 2 or 3 large baking trays then line the trays with baking paper.
  • Step #3 Cream butter, sugar & vanilla essence until light & fluffy.
  • Step #4 Beat in the egg.
  • Step #5 Add sifted flours & sultanas, making into a soft dough.
  • Step #6 Put cornflakes onto a tray, then take rounded tsps of the biscuit mixture & drop into the cornflakes.
  • Step #7 Roll lightly in palms of hands to completely coat the dough with the cornflakes.
  • Step #8 Place onto prepared baking trays, leaving plenty of room between the biscuits to spread.
  • Step #9 Bake in a moderately hot oven for 20 to 25 mins, or until they look cooked.
  • Step #10 Loosen biscuits from tray with a spatula while still warm.
  • Step #11 When cold store this in an airtight container.
  • Step #12 Makes about 28.
