All-day Beans Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 ts Cinnamon
  • 1/4 ts Salt
  • 4 c Sguar
  • & finely sliced
  • 5 1/2 lb Apples, peeled
  • 1/4 ts Ground cloves

Directions
  • Step #1 Recipe by: Taste of Home Oct/Nov '96 Place apples in a slow cooker.
  • Step #2 mix sugar, cinnamon, cloves & salt; pour over apples & mix well.
  • Step #3 Cover & cook on high for 1 hr.
  • Step #4 Reduce heat to low; cover & cook for 9-11 hrs or until thickened & dark brown, stirring every once in awhile (stir more frequently as it thickens to prevent sticking).
  • Step #5 Uncover & cook on low 1 hr longer.
  • Step #6 If desired, stir with a wire whisk until smooth.
  • Step #7 Spoon into freezer containers, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
  • Step #8 Cover & put in the fridge or freeze.
