Almond Paste Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c Nonfat Dry Milk
  • 2 1/2 c All-Purpose Flour
  • 2/3 c Baking Powder
  • 1 c Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 c Almonds, Finely Ground
  • 1/2 c Sugar
  • 1 tb Salt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, stir all ingredients together until well mixed.
  • Step #2 store this in a resealable plastic bag.
  • Step #3 Yield: about 7 1/2 c pancake mix, enough for 3 batches of pancakes.
  • Step #4 To make pancakes: In a medium bowl, 1 1/4 c water, mix 2 1/2 c pancake mix, 1 egg, & 2 tbsps vegetable oil.
  • Step #5 Stir just until moistened.
  • Step #6 Heat a greased griddle over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #7 For each pancake, pour about 1/4 c batter onto griddle & cook this until top of pancake is full of bubbles & underside is golden brown.
  • Step #8 Turn with a spatula & cook this until remaining side is golden brown.
  • Step #9 Regrease griddle as necessary.
  • Step #10 Yield: about 1 dozen 5-inch pancakes.
