Crab Triangles Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c cooked small shrimp
  • 2 tsps milk
  • 1/2 c butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp finely sliced almonds
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp prepared horseradish
  • 1 (6 oz) can crabmeat - drained, flaked & cartilage removed
  • 1 (16 oz) package phyllo dough (14 inches x 9 inches)

Directions
  • Step #1 Remove one wrapped phyllo roll from package & thaw according to package directions.
  • Step #2 Return remaining wrapped phyllo roll to freezer.
  • Step #3 Meanwhile, mix the cream cheese, in a bowl, milk, horseradish, salt & pepper.
  • Step #4 Add the crab, shrimp, onions & almonds; stir carefully to coat.
  • Step #5 Lightly brush one sheet of phyllo with butter.
  • Step #6 Layer with two more sheets of phyllo, brushing each sheet with butter.
  • Step #7 (Keep remaining phyllo dough covered with plastic wrap to avoid drying out.
  • Step #8 ) Cut the layered sheets lengthwise into 2-in.
  • Step #9 strips.
  • Step #10 Cut each strip widthwise in half.
  • Step #11 Place a heaping tspful of filling in lower corner of each strip.
  • Step #12 Fold dough over filling, forming a triangle.
  • Step #13 Fold triangle up, then fold triangle over, forming another triangle.
  • Step #14 Continue folding, like a flag, until you come to the end of the strip.
  • Step #15 Brush end of dough with butter & press onto triangle to seal.
  • Step #16 Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • Step #17 Place triangles on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Step #18 Bake at 400F degrees F for 14-16 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #19 Cool on a wire rack.
