Liver Paste Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/8 ts Cayenne pepper
  • Cooked rice
  • 1 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/4 c Flour
  • 1/8 ts Garlic salt
  • 1 lg Onion, sliced
  • 1/3 c sliced green pepper
  • 1/4 ts Chili powder
  • 2 lb Beef liver, slice 1/2" thick
  • 6 sl Bacon, sliced
  • 1 cn Whole tomatoes

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook bacon in frying pan until crisp, remove.
  • Step #2 mix flour and salt.
  • Step #3 Dredge liver in flour mixture & brown lightly on each side in bacon drippings.
  • Step #4 Pour off remaining drippings.
  • Step #5 Add onion, tomatoes, green pepper, cayenne pepper, chili powder & garlic salt.
  • Step #6 Cover tightly & let simmer 20 mins.
  • Step #7 Thicken gravy if desired.
  • Step #8 Sprinkle top bacon over top.
  • Step #9 Serve liver & sauce over hot cooked rice.
