Maple Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c Pecans, sliced
  • 2/3 c Maple syrup plus a little extra for brushing
  • 3/4 ts Salt
  • 1 1/2 tb Baking powder
  • 1/3 c Heavy cream
  • 3 c Flour
  • 3/4 c Cold unsalted butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oven to 350'F.
  • Step #2 Grease & flour a 9-x-13 baking sheet.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl stir this together the flour, baking powder, pecans, & salt.
  • Step #4 Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  • Step #5 Set aside.
  • Step #6 In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup & cream.
  • Step #7 Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients & pour in the liquid mixture, combining with swift strokes until the dough clings together.
  • Step #8 Roll out about two inches thick on a lightly flouted surface.
  • Step #9 Cut scones with a three-inch round biscuit cutter & place on baking sheet about two inches apart.
  • Step #10 Brush tops with extra maple syrup, & bake for fifteen to twenty mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #11 Transfer to a rack & cool.
