  • Step #1 1 pk beef 4 lg potatoes 4 carrots 1 onion -- cooking 2 bay leaves 1 cn peas -- optional Brown the beef with the onions in a large pot.
  • Step #2 Once the meat is brown add 3 c of water & bay leaves.
  • Step #3 Heat over med-heat/flame while you peel the potatoes & carrrots.
  • Step #4 Add potatoes & carrots to the stew pot.
  • Step #5 Cover with water.
  • Step #6 Bring to a boil.
  • Step #7 cook this until potatoes are tender.
  • Step #8 Mix up a flour & water mixture to thicken the stew.
  • Step #9 Add it right to the pot.
  • Step #10 No need to remove the meat/veggies.
  • Step #11 Stir well to make sure you don't get lumps.
  • Step #12 Add pepper/salt/whatever you like for spices.
  • Step #13 I sometimes add garlic when rowning the meat.
  • Step #14 Oregano is a nice touch as well.
  • Step #15 Once the stew is thickened you can serve it.
  • Step #16 Sometimes I make dumplings with the stew.
  • Step #17 I usually buy a box of Bisquick as it has a recipe on it.
  • Step #18 Unfortunately I cannot relay the recipe to you as I don't have any in the house at the moment.
  • Step #19 You would have to talk to my grandmother if you wanted to make them from scratch.
