Step #1 Heat margarine in heavy 3 qt.
Step #2 saucepan over medium-high heat until melted.
Step #3 stir in the sugar (mixture will be very granular).
Step #4 Stir frequently with wooden spoon, 4 to 5 min.
Step #5 while mixture melts & begins to turn golden (sugar & margarine may separate).
Step #6 Continue cooking 1 to 2 min.
Step #7 , stirring constantly, until mixture is no longer granular (mixture may still be separated; do not overcook); remove from heat.
Step #8 Quickly add cereal.
Step #9 Mix until cereal is completely coated.
Step #10 as soon as possible spread on ungreased cookie sheet.
Step #11 Cool completely; break into bite-size pieces.
Step #12 store this in airtight container.
