Cherry Mold Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c Sugar
  • 1 cn cherry pie filling
  • 1/4 ts Cream of tartar
  • 1 pk cream cheese,softened
  • FILLING:
  • 3 Egg whites
  • 1 c Whipping cream, whipped
  • 1/4 c Confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 ts Vanilla extract

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
  • Step #2 Add cream of tartar; beat until soft peaks form.
  • Step #3 slowly add sugar, 1 tbsp.
  • Step #4 at a time, beating until very stiff peaks form.
  • Step #5 Cover a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  • Step #6 Spoon meringue onto foil.
  • Step #7 Using the back of a spoon, form meringue into a 9 inch heart shape, building up the edges slightly.
  • Step #8 bake this at 275F for 1 1/2 hrs.
  • Step #9 Turn oven off & do not open door.
  • Step #10 Let cool in oven for 1 hr.
  • Step #11 remove this from the oven; cool completely.
  • Step #12 In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar & vanilla until smooth.
  • Step #13 Fold in whipped cream until mixture is well mixed.
  • Step #14 To serve, place heart on a serving platter; fill with cream cheese mixture & top this with pie filling.
  • Step #15 Yield 6 servings.
