Step #2 Toast the sliced walnuts in a baking pan in the oven for 15 mins.
Step #3 remove this from the oven & set aside.
Step #4 Raise the oven temperature to 350 degrees.
Step #5 Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, & salt together into a bowl.
Step #6 In a second bowl, mix the cherries & the nuts.
Step #7 In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter until it is light & fluffy; add the sugar and honey slowly, beating the mixture until it is very light.
Step #8 Add the eggs, one at a time.
Step #9 With mixer at lowest speed, add the flour mixture (reserving 1/4 c), alternating it with the orange juice.
Step #10 Toss the cherry-nut mixture with the reserved 1/4 c of flour, and fold it into the batter.
Step #11 Turn the batter into a buttered & floured loaf pan, approximately 9 x 5 x 3 inches.
Step #12 Bake the bread in the centrer of the oven for 1 hr.
Step #13 Cool the loaf for 15 mins in the pan; unmold the bread on a rack to cool completely.
Step #14 Wrap it in plastic wrap & keep it a day before serving.
