Cornmeal Mush Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 c water
  • 1 1/4 c cornmeal

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix together cornmeal, water, & salt in a medium saucepan.
  • Step #2 Cook over med-heat/flame, until mixture thickens, stirring frequently, about 5 to 7 mins.
  • Step #3 If using as cereal, spoon mush into bowls & serve this with milk & sugar, if desired.
  • Step #4 If frying, pour mixture into a loaf pan & chill completely.
  • Step #5 Remove from pan, cut into slices, & fry in a small amount of oil over medium-high heat until browned on both sides.
  • Step #6 Serve with sauce of your choice.
