Creamed Beef Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (15 oz) can peas, drained
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 4 c milk
  • 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 onion, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Place the ground beef & onion in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  • Step #2 Saute for 5 to 10 mins, or until beef is browned & onion is translucent; set aside.
  • Step #3 Melt the butter or margarine in a medium saucepan over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #4 Remove from heat & add the flour, mixing thoroughly.
  • Step #5 Add the milk slowly, stirring constantly, & return to the heat.
  • Step #6 Keep stirring until thickened to desired consistency.
  • Step #7 Add the reserved beef mixture, the peas, & season this with salt & pepper to taste.
