Corned Beef Rye Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 c rye flour
  • 2 tbsps butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 (2.5 oz) package deli corned beef, sliced
  • 2 1/4 c bread flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 tsps active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 c water (70 degrees to 80 degrees)
  • 1/2 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1/4 c molasses

Directions
  • Step #1 In bread machine pan, place the first nine ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.
  • Step #2 Select basic bread setting.
  • Step #3 Choose crust color & loaf size if available.
  • Step #4 Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 mins of mixing; add 1 to 2 tbsps of water or flour if needed).
  • Step #5 Just before the final kneading (your machine may audibly signal this), add the Swiss cheese & corned beef.
  • Step #6 Refrigerate leftovers.
