Project Runway Fans
Anyone watch the premiere on Lifetime?
What did you think? I adore Tim Gunn. He is absolutely a class act.

RE: Project Runway Fans
I love Project Runway, nym! I was there. Will be next week, too. :) I was rather glad about who they sent home. She was distracting. And she didn't sketch??

RE: Project Runway Fans
She was truly an odd duck. More than quirky.

Did you see the Project Runway Allstar episode? Where they brought back 8 designers for a final challenge? It was great. Chris (flamboyant costume designer)was there. Khuto? Sweet P. Daniel, (tattoo guy who made the mom cry) Santorini? (obnoxious loud Tim Gunn impersonator) Yuli? (the pattern fabric dress is always draped queen), and a few others. They had to make a collection of three looks.. including one runway outift and then there was a great suprise challenge. It was very entertaining.

RE: Project Runway Fans
No, I missed that, darn it. I'll have to look and see if it is going to be on again. I'd love to have seen Chris again.

RE: Project Runway Fans
I saw that one Tina, I never did like Korto and seeing her again, with her attitude just brought it home again. I liked the guy that won, though. Chris cracks Brad and I up! And Santorini or whatever his name is is such a big mouth! Really can't stand him. But I also can't croak that Jeffrey who won last year! I know that's a lot of HATE LOL

RE: Project Runway Fans
yep, her sour grapes attitude was all too obvious....like she was trying to play the "r" card.

I liked the winner too. Did not like Jeffrey at all, last year or this show.

All in all, it was a good show. Liv and I throroughly got a kick out of it.

RE: Project Runway Fans
You are exactly right on her playing the 'r' card. She did that last year too. Constantly - gets tired...

We finally watched the first show last night. Personally all of the worst 3 were bad! Hideous outfits! It wouldn't have broke my heart on any of them being sent home. But yeah, I agree with them on who left. Is the next one on tonight? I've got to make sure my DVR is set right.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Tonight at 10:00 p.m. on LIfetime

RE: Project Runway Fans
Got it set to record!

RE: Project Runway Fans
It was an interesting challenge this week. I wonder why they hadn't thought of it before. I really loved a lot of the designs. Thought the one that got sent home was the right one, too!

RE: Project Runway Fans
yeah, who wants to be considered a hen when your pregnant!? It was hideous! I really loved the one that won and also the black evening one even better. I am assuming everyone has watched this! Oops, I better shut up!

RE: Project Runway Fans
That dress really laid an "egg" in my honest opinion. Sometimes I just "crack" me up.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Truly, I did love the challenge and I was thrilled with the winning design. So far, the move to Lifetime hasn't affected the show adversely. Love my Tim Gunn fix on this show....and Tom on Top Chef. Makes my heart pitter patter. LOL

RE: Project Runway Fans
I absolutely LOVE TIm Gunn! he is so cute in a 'want to hug him' sort of way. Cracks me up. The things he says!

RE: Project Runway Fans
Ha, nym! You're funny. :)

Love Tim. He was so caring in the first episode comforting the one guy that was recovering from an addiction. Can't remember who he was now! At least they aren't harping on it.

There was a cute little blue dress I loved, too. It was a great challenge. There is a lot of talent there this year!

RE: Project Runway Fans
I loved that baby doll one in maroonish red! It would be really fun to wear (in Hollywood) or like Rebekah said when asked where she would wear it, "out with my husband" DUH! Cute dress. I thought that drapy one was pretty too. I don't know how long that Savannah kid can last, he keeps doing the strangest things - the baggy shorts! Ill-fitted at that! Although that's my home town, COME ON!

RE: Project Runway Fans
Three strikes you're out!!! His design choices were okay, but his execution skills were incredibly poor. I think the neoprene dress was fugly. Absolutely hideous. I liked the chiffon cover up and thought the colors were beautiful together.

The macrame looked good, but can you imagine leaning back in a chair or sitting on a bunch of knots....talk about being a pain in the A**. Did not look comfortable.
Oh yeah, it isn't about comfort!! It is about looking good.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Okay watched this episode finally too. I agree with who was sent home. He'd been in the bottom every show. I don't think he acted like he was taking this opportunity seriously. Like it was all a cutesy party. I was sick of him. I didn't really like this challenge though. Couldn't see wearing any of them to the beach, let alone surf! Just me. Of the avant garde looks, I liked the midnight blue one, and the big fluffy toulle (sp?) skirt one in beiges/brown. I disagreed with the judge's on the top one.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Well, my sense of style must be totally off. When last night's winning design first came out I said "yuck!" I thought it was way too short and looked very messy! Was it just me? :)

RE: Project Runway Fans
Haven't watched it yet, will probably tonight though! Can't wait!

RE: Project Runway Fans
Watched this last night. I kind of agree with you frankie, that outfit was out there! I was completely happy with who went home though! She did nothing but bitch all the time and I hated her style of personal dress - LOL (rrraaaarrr) That purple one was hideous too, I actually thought he should have gone home instead of Crystal, but they both sucked. I also didn't think that blue taffeta and lace one was as bad as the judges were saying.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Did anyone watch the latest with the newspaper challenge?

RE: Project Runway Fans
Yep, watched it. Loved the winning design! Glad to see they sent you-know-who home!! Even Tim made that comment at the end. Did you see that??

RE: Project Runway Fans
Yeah, me too. That was hilarious!

RE: Project Runway Fans
Whew...I was glad he went home on the newspaper challenge. That was awful.

I was very sorry to see who got sent home on the "film" challenge. I think the other one who mixed up the twenties/forties film noire design should have gone instead. He tried to fix that hot green mess....and he was "pushing the envelope" Oh well. And I liked the Western Get-up better than the Sci-Fi Ice Queen. He creeps me out...his accent and attitude. YUCK.

RE: Project Runway Fans
LOL TIna, I am sooooo with you on that little twerp with the accent! Can't stand him! I also can't stand the dark-haired guy with the mole face. (Sorry - meow) I do think the outfit of the girl that got sent home was bad, but so was the other guys - worse in my opinion. That hot green mess was hilarious! And did I miss something earlier in the year? Where's Michael Kors this year?

RE: Project Runway Fans
I liked the Western outfit, too, nym.

Michael Kors is supposed to be back tonight! Yayyy! :)

RE: Project Runway Fans
I so didn't like the silver paper bag dress, ugly crushed rouched bubble disaster! Double yuck. I think he should have left instead of the designer who got "auffed".

That said, making over wedding dresses into divorce celebration dresses was a neat twist on the "liberation" day. Some of those gowns were truly atrocious and represented so many eras of bad wedding dresses. It was a fun challenge.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Bummed over the loser this week. Did not agree with the judges at all. Christopher should have been the one to leave!!!!!!! IMHO, LOL

RE: Project Runway Fans
I agree, nym! I was sooo upset! Christopher definitely should have been the one to go!

RE: Project Runway Fans
Absolutely! His hefty bag dress with hideous at best! I totally disagree with who went home! I thought that pant suit was second ugliest - wouldn't wear that even in the 70's! Gag! I was really getting sick of the whiner - one that had the plain wedding dress. I thought "just cut it short and take some strips and make a flapper-like dress! - Quit your whining!"

RE: Project Runway Fans
Looks like maybe three women at Bryant Park this year? :)

RE: Project Runway Fans
That would be a first! :-)

RE: Project Runway Fans
Why is Chris still there? Four weeks in a row at the bottom????

RE: Project Runway Fans
I was hoping he would be good because Minnesota needs all the help it can get when it comes to fashion. I think they should have kicked him off by now too. I am going to go put on my parka now.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Yes, it is amazing he is still there. Four weeks in a row must be a record.

RE: Project Runway Fans
I hope I can stay awake for it.....my eyes are drooping now. Sore throat....might be time for a sip of Grand Marnier....who am I kidding? it is always a good time for Grand Marnier. If he is in the bottom again, tonight, I'll swear the judges are rigging the show to keep a unworthy contestant in to drag us along to root against him.....how could they?

RE: Project Runway Fans
Oh no, they didn't.......but it looks like they did. That was preposterous. What a fugly dress and they let it pass once again. I swear I don't know what they are thinking.

And what the heck was Heidi Klum wearing, shiny silver knickers? With pink and a black sequin sweater jacket???????????? Oy vey.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Okay, Frankieanne, you called it correctly. I loved last night's show and the inspiration challenge.

The previews are scary.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Watched the inspiration one last night. Gotta say - thank God you know who is gone! Actually, that was one of the better designs too! LOL Personally I liked Gordana's (sp?name?) better than the flowy light green one that looked like it was out of the late 70's disco era. But, I guess I'm no judge! What was she thinking though, they've had invisible zippers since I can remember, and I'm OLD! LOL I thought the tall blond's skirt was absolutely hideous! But like Brad said, they're looking for design factor, not sewing ability. I guess he's right, when you make it big time, you have someone else do your tailoring I guess. It was still butt ugly!

RE: Project Runway Fans
I really liked Gordana's dress. I thought it was very pretty and she nailed her inspiration with it. I'm putting my money on Irina to win. What do y'all think?

RE: Project Runway Fans
Is Irina the dark haired one? or the tall blond? I only can remember Carolana's name for some reason.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Irina is the dark haired one that no one seems to like.

RE: Project Runway Fans
Oh, cat fight. Do you think they could actually present a show where the woman are supportive? No wonder the various "Wifes of Ad infinitum" are so popular. Why can't they have women who are cheering each other's successes instead of being so back-stabbing?

RE: Project Runway Fans
I don't understand all the black outfits! If someone gave me $9,000 to spend on material, I'd buy some color!

RE: Project Runway Fans
Anyone watch last night? The winner's collection wasn't my favorite!

RE: Project Runway Fans
Haven't watched the finale yet! Just watched the black outfit one last night. I gotta say though, (although it's too late - LOL) I hope that Carol Hannah wins cuz the other two, Althea (?) and Irina are getting on my nerves with their snippiness towards each other and how 'happy' they were that Carol was sick. Just my opinion...

RE: Project Runway Fans
Let me know what you think after you watch, jjm! :)

RE: Project Runway Fans
I did not like the winning collection at all!! Sorry, not my kind of style at all.

What was with the judge from Great Britain and her hair do? Good Golly Miss Molly someone get her a stylist. She is the critic? I did think Heidi looked absolutely stunning and Kors wasn't his usual day-glo orange. Tim.....my hero was having a conniption fit and he was still classy!

RE: Project Runway Fans
So funny, nym, what you said about the hair. I did a double take on that one. And how unflattering was it anyway? Sooooo not her age at all! What a disaster.

I didn't like the winning collection either. I'll say more about it and the one I did like when JJM gets done watching.
