"People that bring in new prescriptions today are being told it will be 3 days" Like I give a RAT'S ASS about THAT!!! "But, like I said, I called mine in and they said it wouldn't be a problem to have it filled today, why didn't they tell me?" I'm sorry she says (AGAIN) "So will it be filled today or NOT?" she says "yes, check back in" ARGHHH!
So I kill an hour at the store, get what I need and lo and behold it is ready,..... Cool, I think, off to the bank to pay by visa bill that is DUE today....Get to Albertsons, which is where US Bank is inside.... A line of course..... What would my day be WITHOUT IT! No prob... I'm 3rd in line...... except this woman's kid is throwing a FIT, and she's doing nothing to even TRY and tell her kid to be quiet. UNBELIEVABLE! Okay, 20 MINUTES LATER - I KID YOU NOT!!!! I'm up (oh goody!) "how's your day going?" says the smarmy young man behind the counter unknowing that the BITCH standing before him (that would be me) has had it with insincere bullshit! "oh it's trying" I say trying to just get the hell out of there without chit chat... He proceeds to pitch me about "it says her you are in great standing with us and you qualify for a 3.99% ........blah, blah, blah.... "No, I'm not interested, thanks" he continues (of course) "Fine, I finally say, just call me at home with the details" The man would not shut up - must be hard up at US BANK! So I finally get the hell out of there and off to the liquor store... (boy am I gonna need this!) I'm starving by now, you see, cuz it's 1:30!!! SO much for my leisurely morn.... I stop into the teriyaki place next to the liquor store, expecting it to be on fire or something the way my morning had gone, but the pleasant asian girl brought my food to me, I ate, skipped on out to liquor store, the pleasant man rings me up "have a nice day...." And off to home I go... But WAIT, it's not over yet,...... I get home and the GD garbage man didn't pick up my recycle bins! Just because they weren't drug all the way up the driveway, but they got the garbage can, which was right next to them! I call "I'm sorry, (I swear if I hear that one more time!) but they're all done for the day, the earliest we can pick it up would be Tuesday" Fine! You know how many liquor bottles will be in it by then?!! Aaaaahhh take a deep breath...... it's all better now.... Sorry...Had to tell someone.

For justjakesmom: I had a similar drama back in the 80s, a decade which of course is now a blur to me. I was working at a cinema, and had changed out of my wretched polyester uniform to go out for a night of imbibing with scalawags and hooligans.
I didn't realize it at the time, but on my way out to my car, I dropped my pantyhose in the lobby of the theater.
About a week later, one of the ushers approached me, asking me if I had lost anything recently, then he sheepishly produced them from his pocket. What I want to know is what took him a week to hand them over??
I never wore them again.

I attended, as a volunteer, our local National Rifle Association banquet last night. The banquet was held at a hall that has been doing catering for as long as I can remember. The volunteers didn't get to eat, and I don't know if that's a good thing, or bad, because.........................
I couldn't identify what was being served!!!! I know that it was beef and pork, but it was definitely processed food. And the gravy! My God, if you have to smother meat in gravy, you know that someone scraped it up off the floor or dug it out of a dumpster. Also, there were some strange balls served.........they looked like stuffing rolled into ball shapes. And canned fruit. You know, that mess that comes in heavy syrup with the little cherries for color. Ugh. As for the pork, I've never seen gravy that color. For all I know, it was some kind of canned soup.
The volunteers were told that plates would be set aside for them to eat later, but naturally, that never happened. I haven't eaten now for 24 hours, and I probably would have devoured that slop in a heartbeat, if I didn't have to resort to eating someone's leftovers.
On a brigher note, Paul and I won some nice prizes: a print won at silent auction, and a set of NRA cutlery.

If it helps lighten the mood at all, I was in the grocery store a couple of weeks ago, and my pants fell down to my knees when I reached up to the top shelf to retrieve an item. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be an issue, but I wasn't wearing underpants.
The good news: I was in the cleaning supplies aisle WHICH IS ALWAYS EMPTY. Make of that what you will!

Once I did have a mishap with a tube top though. Back in the early 80s you know the tops I'm talking about.... Actually--and this is the God's honest truth, as always--I went on a shopping spree at Goodwill a few months ago. Prior to that, I hadn't shopped for clothes in AGES. I was down to lounging pants and not much else. Anyway, I had lost some weight, so I didn't know what size I was, and I swear I tried on every single pair of pants that I bought that day.
Evidently, I grabbed a pair that I didn't mean to purchase, since the clothes were all piled up in the dressing room, and I was starting to panic due to the small space--as in "get me the hell out of here!"
The pants are great, though, so all I have to do now is buy a belt. I'll let you know when that happens next year.

The elastic was so old on my old lady briefs, they just slid off my belly, thank goodness I wasn't wearing a skirt. OMG! I have all kinds of unfortunate panty stories, including the time when I realized my life was unmanagable when I had to staple a pair of them together to wear to work.
I had a reunion with some college chums back in June. We had a grand old time. So grand, that I had to call my husband to come and get me.
I don't normally wear underpants, but as this was a social occasion, it called for some decorum, so I put on a pair. I'll be damned if the next morning I had no idea where they were. Note to self: do NOT ask spouse where your panties are after a night of drinking and general debauchery.
Footnote: they were in the hamper; I just didn't remember putting them there.

For justjakesmom: I had a similar drama back in the 80s, a decade which of course is now a blur to me. I was working at a cinema, and had changed out of my wretched polyester uniform to go out for a night of imbibing with scalawags and hooligans.
I didn't realize it at the time, but on my way out to my car, I dropped my pantyhose in the lobby of the theater.
About a week later, one of the ushers approached me, asking me if I had lost anything recently, then he sheepishly produced them from his pocket. What I want to know is what took him a week to hand them over??
I never wore them again.

I am truly sorry for hijacking justjakesmom's thread, but I have to tell you all this, and don't know where else to post it.
I attended, as a volunteer, our local National Rifle Association banquet last night. The banquet was held at a hall that has been doing catering for as long as I can remember. The volunteers didn't get to eat, and I don't know if that's a good thing, or bad, because.........................
I couldn't identify what was being served!!!! I know that it was beef and pork, but it was definitely processed food. And the gravy! My God, if you have to smother meat in gravy, you know that someone scraped it up off the floor or dug it out of a dumpster. Also, there were some strange balls served.........they looked like stuffing rolled into ball shapes. And canned fruit. You know, that mess that comes in heavy syrup with the little cherries for color. Ugh. As for the pork, I've never seen gravy that color. For all I know, it was some kind of canned soup.
The volunteers were told that plates would be set aside for them to eat later, but naturally, that never happened. I haven't eaten now for 24 hours, and I probably would have devoured that slop in a heartbeat, if I didn't have to resort to eating someone's leftovers.
On a brigher note, Paul and I won some nice prizes: a print won at silent auction, and a set of NRA cutlery.

I'm not a hunter, but my husband thinks he's Jeremiah Johnson, so we eat a lot of venison, pheasant, and an occasional perch or two. Paul is also a member of a gun club.
It occurred to me today that the cutlery we won last night is the first full set of cutlery I've ever owned in my life. When you inherit cutlery from anyone, there is always a piece missing. How do you lose a spoon? Do people shove butter knives in garbage disposers, or steal cocktail forks?? Where is all that missing cutlery????

I did a survey for a company ( I think it was dixie) and they gave me 60 peices of plasticware. but the lids were attached to use for 2 weeks and give my opinion. They were not that sturdy but to not have to hunt for a lid!! and they paid me $200 for my opinion. the best part was I got to keep the containers..

Ugh, don't get me started on Tupperware. None of the pieces I've accumulated over time can stand up to the cheap old Rubbermaid stuff I have. At least the lids always fit. I could run the RM lids over with my car, and they'd still fit. The "dishwasher safe" TW crap always warps, and the seal is never right.

I have many assorted lids. Not the old fashioned kind either. Some are brand new and have never played in the street. It is the bowls that have run off to reek havoc in unknown locations.
