Good Morning Verna, Pat and all those checking behind me.

Had a good weekend with Alicia, my grandsons wife, we picked her up from Ga. Southern Friday early afternoon and took her back Sunday in time for her to watch the Patriots game. She said she would come back when I put my Christmas tree up to help me decorate it.

Pat I can use the extra kick start this morning, thanks for sharing the yummy cake with us and Verna thanks for your goodies and coffee this morning.

Peeta, Where are you?

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I posted last night, it said it posted but I never saw it and was to tired to do it again :0)

44* here in Savannah this morning, high for today is 66 I think, should be a good day to take Saydee for a nice walk later.

GG congrats on the grand opening, I wish you and Adam lots of success.

Hugs and prayers for all

OH MY GOSH, how could I forget to tell you all, my grandson Chris called Alicia Sunday while she was still with us. He got his first 4 hour pass yesterday. I got to speak to him and he sounded sooooooo good, that made my day. What a Blessing I received yesterday, God Is Good ;0) Looking forward to seeing him over the holidays.

RE: Monday, October 19th
Hi everyone!
Sorry! but Iv'e just got to get this off my mind. I have been in virtual shock since yesterday.

OK! So funerals aren't supposed to be fun, but then again, Why make some of them so cold and inhuman? My sister's mother-in-law passed away last week, (that's OK! She was 96 years old and had been sick for a while.), Yesterday was her funeral. She was buried in an Ultra-religious cemetery in Jerusalem in an Ultra religious funeral, which left no room for anything except the designated prayers. No eulogies or words of praise or memories were allowed, for the sole reason that it was the first day of the Jewish month. (SO WHAT!!). The Women were not allowed to approach the grave site for fear that they might defile it, (or was it because they might make the men think impure thoughts? – GOD FORBID). She was carried on a stretcher (made of an old door with handles attached – Why waste money on the dead?),
She was covered with a length of cloth, Coffins are forbidden..
The parade made its way through the cemetery, where there was not one flower or even a blade of grass. It is just an enormous flat concrete floor with oblong windows in the concrete where future graves will be dug or where present graves stand. There is a twelve-inch space between the graves which does not allow enough space to even stand or pass between.

Now comes the fun part!

We walked on the footpath with graves on either side until we noticed that we were approaching the end of the cemetery. We passed the last graves and were let up a few stairs. In front of us we saw a huge wall. This wall was made of cubicles, like giant mail-boxes. The wall was eight cubicles high, (Don't ask me how they reached the top rows.). Apparently, there were not enough graves so all the empty spaces for future graves that we had seen on the way were saved for men. The corpse was lifted from the stretcher and shoved into one of these cubicles and a square gravestone was then placed over the opening. Even if we wanted to bring flowers there was nowhere to place them. Another glance showed me that none of these sealed compartments had names on them.
After all! These were just women, (and women are inferior- aren't they?).

Maybe I'll wake up to find thas this is just a dream but no dream can be so shocking

Meantime ! have yourselves a great day
Ronny

RE: Monday, October 19th
Hey Ronnie, Susan's description as a "grim" experience, was exactly what I was thinking. Couldn't have been very comforting to her family....seems disrespectful!
Peeta, hope your headache is gone!
Gourmetana, hope you are doing well...would love to sit in and listen on your masterclass!
Pat2me, you shivering?
I have to say that today is a beautiful day, not too hot and not too cold! I'm savoring it!

The reunion was such a success...so many people I haven't seen in decades!
GG, are your dogs barking yet? LOL! Ok, that's a very old expression and seems fit for you today...I can see you sitting at a checkered oil cloth table, shoe off, and rubbing your aching feet. Ha! You shouldn't have worn those cute little heels! LOL!
