With the holidays quickly approaching...I want to get some healthy recipes grouped together so everyone feels fabulous this year and the whole new year soon to come!!!

How do you cut down the calories/fat, I'm not trying to be annoying but the only way I know to do it, is to cut back on how much I eat, not exactly what I eat. I need to lose ahout 50lbs., and until I found this website, I didn't know where to start, now the only things in my way are........the holidays. If I find anything I think will work for this group, believe me, I'll post ASAP!!!!

I've been trying for several weeks now to reformulate a lot of my standard recipes to include less fat and more fiber, etc. This is fun and interesting and I am discovering that a lot of recipes not only taste as good this way, but some actually taste BETTER! Where I skimp on the fat, I try to make up in flavor. Fortunately I am at my desired weight, but at the age of 50, the rest of my life will be a struggle to STAY at that weight! Great group. Thanks for starting it. I'll try to contribute as much as I can.

I replace Olive Oil fro vegetables and Canola Oil for Baking . For Brownies I substitute Apple sauce for the oil. Portion control is another way to cut down, also I try to eat mindfully and slowly never in front of TV this way I will notice when I start to fee l a little full. Michael
