Finally Friday!
This group was way down the list this morning.

We are having a meat sauce with pasta, salad and bread tonight.
Had hoped daughter would be here for it but don't think she will get here from NY that early. Leaving around 3PM with her Uhaul truck. I am nervous about her driving that thing. Won't be an easy day. Will feel better when she is home safely!
Enough rambling,have a good day!

RE: Finally Friday!
I am sure she will make it safe and sound.
Running around today with errands, I think I will make some pizza tonight.
Maybe give the new cookbook a break LOL.

RE: Finally Friday!
Left over pork tacos with spicy coleslaw!
Going crazy today but what else is knew....
Pleclare, I am sending a prayer now for her safety!
Have a great one.

RE: Finally Friday!
Like I was saying last week, our kids are never old enough for us not to worry about them, Pat....She'll be fine.

Going to try Midgelet's Vermont Cheddar and Ale Soup.....Think I'll put it in bread bowls.

RE: Finally Friday!
Thanks ladies for the support. Can I fast forward to tomorrow? LOL!

RE: Finally Friday!
I'd be worried, too, Pat. I'm sure she'll be fine, but keep us posted, ok?

Wynne that soup sounds really good, and I think bread bowls sounds most awesome! Pork tacos, pizza and pasta with meat sauce all sound pretty good to me! One of thoes days where everything sounds good, and I don't have the slightest clue what I will do. Bryan is working tonight, and Hillary is better and has cabin fever, so I doubt very seriously she will be around for supper. No leftovers, either. Probably grab something after work, gotta go to wallyworld and find a little something to do with my makeup tomorrow night. Brenda and Donna and I are gonna got out somewhere to eat and watch the vols game, and we're going to semi-dress up. Not full blown costumes. Brenda is going to wear black and do heavy makeup, black eye shadow and false lashes, has a spidery headband, etc. Not sure what I'll come up with at this late date, but there has to be something out there. Any ideas?

RE: Finally Friday!
OH - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Karma!

RE: Finally Friday!
Glad Hillary is better and Happy Birthday to Karma. Tomorrow is Justjakesmom's birthday!!

RE: Finally Friday!
Really...wish we could have a party for you, Donna!!!!

RE: Finally Friday!
Just found out my niece has H1N1. She is 17 and the doctor confirmed it.

RE: Finally Friday!
So sorry to hear that Lori. i am sure she will be fine!

RE: Finally Friday!
So sorry, Laurie...I'm praying for a speedy recovery.

Finally Friday!
Cold, rainy and dreary here today. Your Vermont Cheddar and Ale Soup sounds delicious.Have everything to make it but the bread bowls. Maybe some beer bread - that's easy!
Laurie - so sorry to here about your neice. Here's wishing her a very speedy recovery. Prayers coming your way.
Glad Hillary is better and Happy B-day to Karma.
Happy B-day Donna! Wishing you happiness on your special day!
Have a great weekend everyone.

RE: Finally Friday!
thanks for the well wishes.
She babysat and slept over Sat night. but she was fine then. Does anyone know how long the icubation period is? Rachel is sick but she doesn't have the fever. and her cough really isn't that bad because the doctor said her lungs are clear, I am hoping that my kids don't get it. My neice is supposed to follow a gluten frree diet but because she is 17 & knows everything she doesn't & my sister just gave up fighting with her about it. The doctor said that caused her immune system to be weak.

Finally Friday!
Laurie your question has concerned me also so I got on WebMD and this is what it said:

Question: What is the incubation period for the flu?
Dr. Clements: When you get infected with the flu virus, it multiplies quietly in body until you get symptoms of the disease and start excreting enough virus to give to someone else. That's the incubation period. For the flu, it is about two to five days. So if you are exposed today, you probably won't have any symptoms for three to five days. Then you have a little headache, maybe a few aches and pains and maybe a low fever. Then, the next day, you have a high fever and a runny nose.

Question: How long are you contagious?
Dr. Clements: Most adults are contagious for about five to seven days. With young children, it's longer. The youngest kids (1 to 2 year olds) can be contagious for 10-14 days. And they can also have diarrheal illness when they get the flu. They get more symptoms that we adults typically have.

But I would suggest you call your own doctor and see what they have to say.

RE: Finally Friday!
That was good info Valerie!

Jeanne had decide to stay and have supper and leave NY about 6:30 or 7 instead of driving up in rush hours. Think that's a good idea, should do better with time.

RE: Finally Friday!
That was has decided!

RE: Finally Friday!
Thanks Val.
we are past the 5 days so if they were going to start showing symptoms they would have yesterday & today. Rachel has already been to the doctor and she said she does not have it. Aslo, Rachel is feeling much better today than yesterday other than a crying jag over getting a 90 on her math test.

RE: Finally Friday!
Gah, the flu is scary. When I went to the E.R. the other night there was a person sitting there with a mask on and a whole box of them by the check in window. First thing I did was put one on.

Birthday cake, chocolate, is cooling on the counter. A couple of years ago we started a tradition of decorating our own. They love the Littlest Pet Shop toys so we buy a package of them for the top. Karma's are birthday party themed this year so should be pretty cute.
I'm feeling a bit bad because I haven't been able to get to the store and get her a bunch of little makeup and jewelry junk like I usually do so I think I will slip her some cash in her card and take her up to the new $1 jewelry shop up the street next weekend. Haven't got her any candy either, good thing Halloween is tomorrow! LOL

We got her the new Tinkerbell movie and the dad is stopping by the W-Mart to pick up the play-doh Cafe. His mom is coming over (always a bag full there) and I believe my nephew Nate will be here...she should do all right. I'm just feeling the mom guilt over not being able to make it the bash we usually do....

I'm assuming we will be getting a pizza...good thing...my head is pounding.

RE: Finally Friday!
Hey Ang! She is lucky to have a Mom like you and you know you will make it up to her. Don't feel guilty!

RE: Finally Friday!
We decided to go out for dinner. they opened a new Chinese/japanese resteraunt in town so we are going to give it a try. i am gonna get some SUSHI. no rolls though just sashimi have to stay away from the rolls per the doc because of the Graves. did you know that the seaweed they use to make the roll has 1000 times what you need for daily iodine intake. Not good if you have an overactive thyroid.
I am sure Karma will have an awesome birthday! What could be better than decorating your own cake. How old is she going to be?

RE: Finally Friday!
Have a burger in my belly from Hardee's. Slept the morning away. Did a trip to the county recycle point for the normal suspects. Dropped off a printer to the company I do business with to create a little good will. Installed a new printer, that was bought yesterday, on mothers' laptop. Now I have to get her unscared about using a word processor.

She has been hand transcribing bible stories from a big book onto yellow legal pad pages and having Staples make multiple copies of those stories to pass out to the children at church. It's running $60/mo. In two months the printer will be paid for plus. And the old printer was just a printer. This new printer is a scanner and a copier and half the weight of the old, and I mean old printer. Could have had a fax option also but that is overkill.

Been a while since I've had a burger. I can definitely taste all the grease I'm not used to eating.

RE: Finally Friday!
Never heard of Hardee's. Is it a fast food place?

Happy Birthday, Karma....She'll have a great time.

RE: Finally Friday!
Hey all - long time no posty! yeah Hardees is a fast food joint, Wynne - down south. Wish we had 'em up here.
Get well to everyone and everyone's that's sick, I think it's gonna be a long flu season....
I went to Costco today - the cupboards were getting bare here. They had their take and bake pizzas $3 off, so I bought a pepperoni one. That'll be Sunday's meal probably or tonight. Got a 4-pack of filet mignons and those babies will be on the grill tomorrow night. Not sure what's for tonight. Last night ended up being breakfast for me and Brad just had popcorn. LOL He had a late lunch and wasn't hungry when dinner time came so I just made me a cheese omelet with sausage patties, some hashbrowns.
Oh, Brad's callin' me .... gotta help with installation of bath fan.

RE: Finally Friday!
Karma's having some pizza and enjoying a cartoon. She thanks you all for your Birthday wishes and wants to wish her birthday buddy Donna a big one right back! Karma was actually due on Halloween but came 2 days early. Had to keep that born on the 29th tradition going on in my family. She is the 4th one and that's just immediate...

We have a Hardee's here, yum. I think on the West coast they are Carl's Jr.s.

RE: Finally Friday!
Yeah? I've had a Carl Jr. They're good too. I didn't know that they were the same? We don't have one here in Everett, but up north more and some I've seen to the south too. I ate at one in OR.

RE: Finally Friday!
Happy Birthday to both Karma and Donna!
Sounds like fun with all the plans in the works for youngster and grown up alike. *Filet mignons are a favorite treat!*

Ang, you are a great momma and don't you ever forget it.

Speedy recovery Laurie for your niece. The flu is frightening.
Thanks for the info Valerie, nice of you to look it up for us.

Glad your daughter decided to wait until after rush hour with the UHaul...sounds safer and better for your nerves Pat.

Congrats Points on the new hardware....good luck on converting Mom.

Soup sounds delicious, Wynne....gotta love cheddar anything.

Lori...Don't know what to suggest for a costume. Our party at work today was a bit of a bust. A lot didn't participate and it was kind of lame. Of course all He-double hockey sticks was happening over some orders and I was too busy trying to straighten out the mess to play the Halloween games.

No car, no dinner plans, just the same empty house and furry animal critters to keep me company. Fred sounded weird today, he was slurring his words very badly, like he had been to a bar...so they are ordering more tests to see if there is something going on neurologically. He had been speaking clearly until yesterday evening. He had his first shower in 2 months today and he was very very happy. Just not long enough according to him. LOL He has always been a water hog.

RE: Finally Friday!
Happy Birthday to the beautiful Karma! :-)

Whew, what a day! Running since this morning with TBO...wow. I haven't stopped all day. Laundromat to clean comforters. Hair salon for a haircut. Shoe Show for Nikes. Target for jeans. Bank. Grocery. Gas station.

All I want to do is lay on the couch, but I'm going to fry up some cheeseburgers tonight for hubby and I. TBO is taking off to the DUNGEON OF DARKNESS---having a buddy spend the night tomorrow and Sunday it's the apple orchards.

I'll have to wait for Monday to get any rest!!

--Kn0x--

RE: Finally Friday!
'Tis late but I'm starting a garlic focaccia loaf. It's one Lillian hasn't reviewed....... eheheheheheh............. 'Tis difficult 'cause she's been through just about all of them.

RE: Finally Friday!
