I have been looking for many things, and have found that searching outside GR using a regular search engine and adding "grouprecipes" to the search produces very awesome results.
I would also like to be able to search for the comments I have left because I often forget to bookmark a recipe and then forget to come back and rate after I have made it...
hopefully nobody hates me because I have not returned ;)

Why hate you - you'veshared a clever idea for searching for recipes. Perhaps we'd be less delighted if you kept a good idea to yourself?
I've not been trusting this site too well and have been printing recipes out lest they are never to be found again.

I never would have thought of that. good idea. I never can find what I am looking for when I use the GR search engine.
Borinda I print out the recipe right when I see it if it is something I am going to try. I keep all me recipes in a 3 ring binder and then I have a section up front of waiting to be tried, because if I put it in with the rest I would forget LOL. once it gets tried it either goes into the appropriate section or if its bad the circular file LOL.

Good idea for the search, since the GR search engine leaves something to be desired.
And great idea for the recipes, Laurie. I used to keep a list of recipes I wanted to try, but then there were times that I could not tell from the title which recipe I had in mind for that day and had to search through them again anyway.

Laurie - We are on the same page. I have the three ring binders with recipes in a corner next to my stand mixer in my kitchen. That's a reminder to me to try something new and like you, a way to not have to search for a recipe that sounded so good.

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for this tip, gaelicgrime. I knew there was a recipe posted here called BLT Pie, but the GR search won't search for a word that is less than three letters, ie egg, pie, etc. so I couldn't find it here. Went out of GR and used a search engine and voila! There it was! Thank you, thank you!

Personally for keeping recipes, I have several files within my software and one specifically labeled "collected" which I work VERY hard to maintain attributions, andother called "will" where I put my own creations, etc.
I quit writing paper recipes down long ago because of types of accidents that paper and I have especially in a kitchen (even with sheet protectors etc LOL).
@Borinda, I suspect people will hate me for not returning to add a comment/rating to a recipe I said I would after I made it.

Nah - they won't hate you and if they do --- isn't it kind of pitiful they have nothing better to put that energy into? Life's too short for the drivel. A gerontologist friend and I were discussing elderly relatives recently and she mentioned that having anger is a big consumption of one's energies. I'd rather party with the fun crowd. ;-) Join in...
