When I served it I would tell her it was pumpkin and she would eat it. It wasn't until she was 14 when she learned the truth, that she had been eating butternut squash all those years. Now she eats squash any way that it's prepared and tells her own kids that they're crazy for not liking it. I think my grandkids are due for some of grandma's special pumpkin.
