I'm successful with my 1st attempt with my cupcake using my muffin maker (hahaha I got no oven ;p) but I find it boring. I'm thinking of adding frosting but do not know how to make it. If it's successful, I'm going to make a special birthday cupcake for my son on his coming birthday.
So anyone, please help!!
Thanks!

but I don't know what the metric conversion would be.

And you can add more xxx sugar than it calls for to try to harden it up, tho it takes a lot i admit. Probably why there's a pound of it in the above recipe. smart move. It's more like a glaze, really. We haven't revised the recipe because sometimes drippy is oh so good. My mom and I have used this for eons.
Bakery-style Frosting ( they really have no right to call it that)
2 T. water 1/4 c. granulated or xxx sugar
Make into a simple syrup by cooking in the microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes or by bringing to a boil on the stove and letting cook for 1 minute.
Add: 1 1/2 c. sifted confectioner's sugar 1/4 c. salt 1 egg (just the white for white frosting) - if making chocolate icing add 1/3 c. of cocoa
Blend with syrup
Add: 1/2 c. butter (plus 2 T. for choco. icing) 1t. vanilla
Beat until creamy with mixer.

Don't use a 1/4 cup of salt. I meant a teaspoon. : +
i know you would have figured it out anyway but my reputation is at stake!
