A way we have learned to save a lot of money on groceries is growing our own vegetables, and herbs, fishing for our own fish ( we bought a separate freezer) we eat the salmon and also the roe as I have learned how to make caviar, so no waste there, gather our own mushrooms and pick berries which you know freeze well.
This was my first year at growing tomatoes and herbs in pots so I'm still wanting to learn more about this and grow more vegetables also this spring I want to start growing hanging strawberries.
I want to learn how to can also, I have the cans and lids I don't have the 'pot' that you need. If anyone would like to send me information that would be great.
So what are some of your tips?

I have done herbs and even had a vegetable garden a few years back, but it was so difficult to keep up with the extreme temps. Growing up in MA we always had HUGE gardens and my family there still plants yearly fruit and vege gardens. I am a big coupon surfer and a huge sale shopper. I just posted how I actually got 10 packages of 8 batteries with out spending a dime! I love saving money too!
