What I love about my crockpot is that I can put roast, beef tips, or any other meat in frozen, and it will be done and brown when I get home! My Mom always browns her meat first, but I don't. Mine pot also comes off the base on goes onto the stovetop, so I can stir some water and cornstarch together, and pour it in on top of the whole meal, and boil a couple of minutes on the stove top and have thickened sauce/gravy if needed.
