Wednesday Winners
I lucked out yesterday, 'cuz I had the pulled pork in the freeze and the drunken beans were from over-the-weekend prep and leftover de leche flan cake (an experiment that flopped miserably)

Tonight, I want to try Trisha Yearwood's ribbon loaf as seen on Good Morning America. It looked so yummy. Salad with Ultraslim dressing/cukes and maters. Nanner pudding with gingersnaps.

RE: Wednesday Winners
Dinner sound yum NYM! I'll be there. Will have to check out the ribbon loaf..

I ameither doctoring frozen pizza or having frozen stuffed shrimp entree I got with baked potat and veggie.

RE: Wednesday Winners
Porterhouse on the grill....Not sure about what else though....Maybe potato planks on the grill too and a salad......

NYM.....I'm curious to know how that meatloaf comes out...I saw her make it and it looked good....:)

Gee, Notyo, I don't know if I should invite myself over for LAST night's meal, or tonights! LOL!

Hubby is home tonight, so it's beef tenderloins, walnut & gorgonzola tortelini with a touch of aglio e olio (MIGHT add some mascarpone to make the sauce creamy, jury's still out on that one....) and some fresh green beens with a sprinkling of sun-dried tomatoes on top. Glass of red wine (or two) for the cook.....

MIGHT even get to use the BBQ -- snow has melted away, but not sure how much work's involved in getting it cleaned up yet.....

(no dessert tonight, because I had two last night :)

RE: Wednesday Winners
I threw some ribs in the crockpot earlier today. I'm going to drain them later, douse them with Sweet Baby Ray's sauce, and let them dry a bit in the crockpot. Adding some fried potatoes and steamed broccoli.

Hey---I just bought some avocados at Kroger's for 99 cents a pound. I'm planning on doing some guacamole for tomorrow. MMMmmmmm!

Wow everyone's dinners so fantastic - I do not know whose house to hit first and I dont think I have enough gas in the car at the moment - but all is well in the Diva house - I am making that gumbo recipe I made once again (just posted) - I loved it sooo that much, making a much bigger pot of it though...and I have already gotten into the wine...feeling much better and relaxed already!

and to Knoxcop and others- what sort of crockpot do you recommend - and what about a pressure cooker? I need both (or do I?) I don't have a crockpot, and never have cooked in one (yes shame on me) - I am still looking for those old fashioned 'aspestos mats' we used to use to help keep a pot simmering on super low all day... and any ideas anyone where I can get one of those?

wow see what happens to me with one large glass?...Full of questions, and as always a lot of words....god help me in a few hours....top chef on tonight...whoo hoo

RE: Wednesday Winners
I was planning on making luvshk's Jelly Roll Meatloaf tonight with a spinach salad, but my plans were derailed. Ended up with Wendy's hamburgers...:(
Hopefully I'll get to make it tomorrow for dinner.

geeze RML - I was hoping to hear too about the meatloaf - 1) I have never made a rolled meatloaf and 2) would you believe it has been at least 5 years since I made any sort of meatloaf?

Quite frankly, I have been having an urge lately, despite the lack of years in making it - I have been wishing to bring this back into my life now that I have a boyfriend in my life...its our first anniversary on Friday....and no I wont make it then... I'll want to go out for that... but was truly interested in the results - Keep up posted please!

In fact, I have tried to suggest to the man, let me make meatloaf, and since he is from Europe originally, he is not used to great meatloaf - I can only think of his disastrous experiences...I laugh at it all... since meatloaf can be one heck of a fantastic dish if done right...

RE: Wednesday Winners
I liked Trisha's ribbon roll, except it was hard to get the biscuit patted out and it wasn't easy to roll in a hot kitchen. I think I let the biscuit topping get too hot. It wasn't nearly as pretty as hers. I think I would spice up the topping with a little more heat, but hubby liked it just fine. It wasn't an a+ on visuals.

I want to try the jelly roll loaf too. Maybe on Sunday...I plumb forgot I have to work this Saturday. There goes my prep day of cooking.
