Food for thought? Friday
Fish is supposed to be brain food, so we are eating tilapia, broiled with parmesan cheese crust. Salad with green olives, celery, tomatoes, and green onions. Mixed veggies or broccoli. Warmed brownies with a scoop of ice cream for hubby.

What's on your table?

RE: Food for thought? Friday
im curious, what was the last meal the baking ladies brought you and your family? Your dinner for tonight sounds simply divine...

not sure yet whats for dinner...got to figure something out soon, it won't have the time to defrost!

RE: Food for thought? Friday
Last dinner on the Cape before heading home tomorrow. Going to our favorite restaurant,LaScala!

RE: Food for thought? Friday
ok got it - since it's raining, damp and even a bit chilly...
I am roasting and doing my orange rosemary chicken, reheated homemade baked beans, something green, a salad with an asian salad dressing I saw here, and I just put out eggs and butter to come to room temp for making my grandmas orange coconut pound cake (grandma nelles pound cake recipe and variations posted yesterday)

LaScala - ooh sounds super fancy! enjoy!
What about everyone else?

and Momma, the tilapia sounds great, is the recipe posted here? I never made it. I will have 2 months when my man goes back to his country before returning back to the states, during his time being away. I will be able to make some dishes during the summer that normally I can't such as tilapia, since he is not such a fish foodie...ive been wanting to try for some time too!

NYM and Diva, can I come to your places?? Your dinners sound devine. Pleclare, you have fun and enjoy your evening out. We are going to the chop house tonight with my dad, his fiance` and friends. (Having a hard time with my dad remarrying...this ought to be interesting) ; )

RE: Food for thought? Friday
sure ruskingirl! this bird just went in and hope you don't mind eating late - say 9pm...but don't expect the lemon pound cake with added seeds from a vanilla bean to still be here - its so hard to keep my paws off the darn thing until dessert time!

RE: Food for thought? Friday
I made Chicken Cheese Melts yesterday...so we have leftovers. I'm also slicing up a Rotis Chicken and putting it on an "unpackaged" Caesar Salad. Fruit for dessert.
Hey, it's Friday!

RE: Food for thought? Friday
Diva, I don't think I posted the tilapia, we just make a paste of parmesan/mayo/chopped green onion and slather it on the fillets and broil for five minutes. They are so skinny (the fillets) it takes just minutes to cook. Squeeze on lemon and serve. I like tilapia because it is economical and quick to fix.

So far, night one, we had legs/thighs with yellow rice and peas from one family, second night was a whole roast chicken from Walmart with rice and corn from another family, then we had leftover creamed ham and peas on biscuits out of our leftovers, then we got spaghetti and meatballs on the same night we got a huge casserole of spaghetti and marinara from a different family! So we have a lot of spaghetti. Fred said, no more ham, no more spaghetti. So fish it is tonight. Why do you ask? Still have the espress brownies from the weekend and we have the peanutbutter and chocolate brownies from the spag/meatball family. Plus a basket full of macadamia nut white chocolate chunk cookies and a basket of pineapple whole wheat rolls. Splendid food from wonderful friends.

Pat, I hope you have a grand time. You deserve a great dinner and fun evening.

RE: Food for thought? Friday
Hubby pulled out a couple of bags of blue gill and white bass mixed filets. Now having fried fish, with oven baked potato and sweet potato fries. Also, some of the last of last year's breaded garden okra.
Good!

RE: Food for thought? Friday
we had broiled london broil, bake potatoes with sour cream and chives, sauted mixed mushrooms and baby peas... I am stuffed.!!!

RE: Food for thought? Friday
Hey Diva, sorry I didn't make dinner, ended having some shrimp at the chop house. It was very good. ; )

RE: Food for thought? Friday
Peetabear, that sounds wonderful, it has been ages since we had a london broil...my mom used to make it and top with just a smidge of her homemade garlic butter and it was always awesome. Great dinner.

Ruskingirl, there is nothing wrong with shrimp....one of my favorites.
