What I love about being a country cook.
The fact that I can raise my own veggies. And Know that they are not chemically abused before they hit my dinner table.

I also love to cook for friend and family and see the looks on their face when they try a new recipe I've used from these web pages. Thanks to all my foodie friens and more, I get to smile every day.

I really miss growing my own .. here in the summer nothing grows! Well except cotton and sugar cane... Fall is when we plant... And I plan on planting for table use...

We don't raise or own veggies anymore, but I certainly have experienced it. We still buy from the local farm stands we know.

Gave up canning a long time ago...can't lift things with much weight now......I think I did my share and a couple of other people's too anyway.

Sure isn't anything in the world better though! Still use the family recipes for fresh produce and all the wonderful new ones from my friends here.
