The lowly bean
Food staple of many. Frustrated with recipes that served up a crunchy bean, I went in search of the how-to's for a well cooked but not mushy bean.
I was fearing that the bean juice was too thick with that fatty greasy taste to turn out well, but it did. After the cook time was up the beans were delicious.
It tastes like baked beans with pieces of pork in it.
This might have just inspired me to try to make beans with some of my barbecue sauce. I'm happy it turned out as well as it did, for my first from scratch bean recipe.

I love the tractor plate! Where did you get it from, John Deere?

RE: The lowly bean
There should be a group for beans and other legumes

RE: The lowly bean
I have a tractor. It's a toy (according to some) with only 35 HP. Was cruising through Walmom's and saw the JD plate set (4 plates, 4 saucers, 4 bowls, 4 cups, all for under $20) along with other JD odds and ends and picked them up.
So when you see the JD logo in a food picture, it's probably my pic.
The object was to free up some cupboard space. Mother has 20 each of plates and saucers and bowls and cups. All unmatched. Some cracked. Some glued together. Now we have all those plus my JD set. Some plans just don't come together.
She lives by herself. What's she going to do with 20 plates?
Think I'm getting side tracked.

RE: The lowly bean
There are two bean groups. They are now on the first page. Let's keep 'em going
