Catalogs
It is only November and already the new garden catalogs have arrived.

RE: Catalogs
Hi Michael, and all other Organic Gardening members ;)

This is a great and very informative group.

Typically, I purchase young vegetable plants and herbs at my local supplier for my garden. But I was thinking about looking into seeds this year. Can anyone recommend some good catalogs from which I could order from?

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to chatting with everyone here :)
Lori

Catalogs
Seeds of change is my favorite they also have a web page with several help sections.
They back their product even if something is damaged by the shipping process.
They also will walk you step by step over the phone about any topic.

Gardens Alive is another great catalog that also has a web site. I use them for fertilizers and bug repellents and traps.

Arbico Organic ( not sure of the spelling) is wonderful and I used their organic fertilizer for the first time on my tomatoes and peppers. I got the biggest crop ever.

Other catalogs are jumping on the band wagon Johnny's Select offers 300 organic products.
Worms way is another great source either on the web or by catalog. they also answer questions and offer great advice.

Gardens Alive magazine although not a catalog is a great reference and has great advice for the organic gardener.

RE: Catalogs
Thank you Michael, for the recommendations. I really appreciate you taking the time, and I will be sure to check them all out.

Re: Catalogs
I don't know if it is too late to throw my two cents in, but Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds is a great catalog and offers some really great seeds - stuff you just don't see every day.

RE: Catalogs
Not too late at all. I welcome all suggestions. Thank you, Angelina :)

RE: Catalogs
You're welcome Lori!

I have used them to buy french melons (excellant until the squash bugs got them) and this year I am going to try growing golden beets - I have a really good recipe from dond, who says they are sweeter then red beets. I love beets!

And yes, I'll try the melons again - this time I am prepared for the squash bugs - but will take additional pointers from anyone who has dealt with them before.
