Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cut a cross into every fig, and open them like a flower, but make sure the four parts are still sticking together at the bottom
  • Cut a phyllo round for each fig, make sure it is big enough, it needs to be the size of a small pancake
  • For each pouch: put half of the teaspoon honey in the center of the phyllo round
  • put the fig on top of the honey
  • Scoop a large tablespoon of the cheese and put it in and on top of the fig
  • Drizzle half a teaspoon honey on top of the cheese and spice it up however you like
  • Fold the phyllo into a little pouch, and press the contours of the dough, so it looks like it doesn't have any edges anymore
  • Seal the pouch with a little bit more honey.
  • Arrange the pouches on a baking tray and bake them in a preheated 200 degrees oven (that's celcius, I guess in fahrenheit it would be around 350).
  • Check up on them regularly, when they're golden yellow, they're finished!
  • Enjoy!
  • Note: if you don't want your dish to be very sweet, you can always leave out the honey on top of the cheese
  • Note 2: I make this with a fresh salad with roasted nuts, raisins, and berries.
