- 1 carton of chopped tomatoes shopping list
- 2 cloves of galric shopping list
- 4 rashers of streaky smoked bacon shopping list
- 1 red onion shopping list
- 3 ripped basil leaves shopping list
- penne pasta (cooked) shopping list
- crushed black pepper shopping list
- salt ( for taste) shopping list
- Parmessan cheese shopping list
- garlic bread shopping list
- olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- SAUCE:- crush your garlic cloves, finely dice red onion, slice your bacon rashers into lardon sice pieces.
- heat olive oil in a frying pan, add garlic and fry for 30 seconds to release the aroma, add diced onion and fry for a further 30 seconds, add bacon bits and fry for another minute, at this point the juices from the garlic, bacon and onion will be in the bottom of the pan, do not drain as this has alot of the flavours, then add the chopped tomatoes and simmer. seasoning to your liking.
- re-heat your pasta in some salt water until pipng hot.
- add your basil leaves to the sauce and simmer for one minute.
- Now your ready to serve, drain your pasta and place on your serving dish, spoon the sauce straight from the frying pan onto the pasta making sure you have an equal amount of bacon and onion!!
- cut the parmessan cheese into realy thin slithers using a mandalin prefferably, then place 5-6 slithers on top of the sauce.
- and serve with grilled garlic bread and enjoy.
