How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius
  • Grease a large cake tin or two medium sized
  • Sift flour
  • Beat eggs well until light and fluffy
  • Add sugar & butter to eggs & beat a little more.
  • Add vanilla and milk & beat once more
  • Add flour & fold into mixture
  • Lastly add the baking soda and combine.
  • Cook in preheated oven for approximately 50 minutes.
  • Once cooled cover with chocolate or for a traditional Bolivian style:
  • Beat egg whites together until almost stiff, add sugar and a squeeze of lemon and continue beating until stiff. Pour over cake. They are never precise with measurements where I was so you have to make it up as you go with this topping.
