Chocolate Ganache Bites With Whipped Cream

- 2 packages of Athens Fillo mini shells (You can make your own phyllo dough, but I just use these as a quick way) shopping list
- 3 cups semi- sweet chocolate chips (good quality chocolate) shopping list
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream shopping list
- 3 Tablespoon of butter shopping list
- For whipped cream Topping: shopping list
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- I have seen a few different recipes on how to make ganache, but this is the way my chef brother-in law showed me.
- If you have a double boiler you can use that but this is what I do. I just heat a small amount of water to boiling in saucepan and then I put a frying pan on top. In the frying pan I add 3 Tablespoons of butter. While butter is melting I add in the chocolate and stir until almost smooth. Stirring constantly I then start slowly adding the cream. After all the cream is incorporated well remove from heat. Fill mini shells with the chocolate mixture. You can do this by piping it in or use a spoon. Then I put it in the fridge to set. I let set overnight for desired thickness.
- To make whipped topping:
- To prepare I put stainless steel bowl in freezer for 1 hour before. Add cream to bowl and beat until almost stiff. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until cream holds peaks. Spoon on top of ganache.
- Add some fruit to the top if you wish.
